DC Announces More Before Watchmen

With Before Watchmen climbing up the comic book sales charts, it's no surprise that DC Comics has unveiled plans for yet another Before Watchmen mini-series -- this time focusing on that creepy old baddie, Moloch. The announcement was made at DC's All Access panel at Fan Expo Toronto.

Before Watchmen: Moloch will only run two issues, written by Nite Owl and Dr. Manhattan scribe J. Michael Straczynski, with art by 100 Bullets' Eduardo Risso. Moloch #1 will hit on November 7 with issue #2 to follow on December 26. It's unknown if the series will include pieces of the Crimson Corsair back-up stories that have been running throughout the Before Watchmen titles.

Moloch has made appearances in other Before Watchmen books thus far, including Comedian and Ozymandias. Could there be more Before Watchmen on the way?

Pele Movie in the Works

With the World Cup hitting Brazil in 2014, Imagine Entertainment has plans to shoot a film about the most famous footballer of them all: Pele.

According to Variety, the studio has asked brothers Jeff and Michael Zimbalist to write the script, with a view to directing. The pair have previously worked on the documentary likes of Favela Rising and The Two Escobars.

The story will concentrate on Pele’s remarkable early years, with Imagine President of Production Kim Roth describing it as “A coming-of-age story that will trace Pele’s childhood until he won his first World Cup in Sweden at the age of 17.”

Language will be English with some Portuguese; the film shooting next year with a view to releasing before the summer 2014 tournament.

Chris Tilly is the Entertainment Editor for IGN and thinks that Pele is the second greatest footballer of all-time, coming just behind Crystal Palace's midfield dynamo of the mid-1990s, David Hopkin. His football Tweets can be found on both Twitter and MyIGN.

G.I. Joe 2 Director to Helm He-Man Movie

Sony is moving forward with their plans to make a new live-action Masters of the Universe movie by tapping G.I. Joe: Retaliation helmer Jon M. Chu to direct it.

The Hollywood Reporter says Chu's reps confirmed the filmmaker is in talks to direct the second attempt at a He-Man movie. (The 1987 feature Masters of the Universe, starring Dolph Lundgren, was the first.) Alex Litvak and Mike Finch penned the script, entitled Grayskull, for Sony and production company Escape Artists.

You may recall that Chu's G.I. Joe sequel was pushed from its June release date to March 2013.

Chu has also worked with Justin Bieber on his concert documentary so let the rumors begin to fly that this obviously means Bieber and Dwayne Johnson, who plays Roadblock in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, will star in Masters of the Universe. Or maybe even Channing Tatum as Prince Adam.
