Freeman, Banks Give Voice to Lego Movie

Oscar winner Morgan Freeman, who played Lucius Fox in Nolan's Batman trilogy, will once again cross paths with the Caped Crusader onscreen ... this time in LEGO form.

Deadline reports that both Freeman and The Hunger Games' Elizabeth Banks have been added to the voice cast of Warners' animated LEGO Movie. They join Chris Pratt and Will Arnett, who play the movie's protagonist and a LEGO version of Batman, respectively.

No word on Banks' role, but Freeman's character is said to be named "Vitruvius," which also just so happens to be the name of an ancient Roman author of a multi-volume work on architecture (a fitting subject for LEGO).

The movie will be directed by 21 Jump Street's Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Lord recently described the film as the story of "a young man who doesn't have a creative bone in his body and [he] has to always build things from the instructions. ... He's an 'instructions worker.' In the LEGO city, they build buildings, and it turns out in this universe it's illegal to build apart from the instructions. So what he finds out is that he's actually [a] descendant from these like super creative Jedi-type people who are called 'Master Builders' and he has been charged with saving the universe from being frozen together by an evil bad guy, so over the course of the movie he has to unlearn all of that lame-o, uncreative stuff and learn how to build without all of the instructions in order to save the universe."

The LEGO Movie opens February 28, 2014.

First Official Photo of Daniel Day-Lewis as Lincoln

We've seen some set photos of him before, but now the first official photo of Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis as President Abraham Lincoln has been released.

Entertainment Weekly debuted the image and also chatted with Lincoln director Steven Spielberg about the 16th U.S. President. “Lincoln had a very, very complicated – and at the same time, extremely clear — inner life,” said Spielberg. “He thought things out. He talked things out. He argued both sides of every issue. And he was very careful in making any decision. As a matter of fact, his opponents and his enemies criticized him often for being impossibly slow to a decision.”

The director added, "Our movie is really about a working leader who must make tough decisions and get things done in the face of overwhelming opposition.”

Lincoln opens in limited release November 9 before opening wide  November 16.

All-Star Cast Revealed for Dishonored

The voice cast for Dishonored has been revealed, and it's quite impressive to say the least.

Academy award-winner Susan Sarandon, appearing for the first time in a video game, plays Granny Rags – a former aristocrat, she's been driven mad from years living on the streets of Dunwall. Chloë Grace Moretz ( Kick Ass's Hit Girl) voices Young Lady Emily, the daughter of the Empress who is kidnapped after her mother's death. Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones) stars as Emily's caretaker Calista.

Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs), Brad Dourif (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy), and John Slattery (Mad Men) also lend their vocal talents to Arkane Studio's first-person action game featuring a supernatural assassin driven by revenge.

And if that wasn't enough, it even stars Princess Leia. Well, Carrie Fisher will be heard throughout the city of Dunwall, broadcasting government propaganda on a speaker system.

“Having such talented actors voice Dishonored's compelling cast of characters adds a rich, powerful element to the game,” said Raphaël Colantonio, president of Arkane Studios. “We want to draw people into this virtual world and make it feel real. This celebrated cast adds wonderful depth and credibility to the overall Dishonored gameplay experience."

Dishonored is set for release in North American on October 9, 2012 and in Europe on October 12, 2012 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
